The Gospel by Amy Jo Evans

Xovier (deaf) is hearing "The Gospel" for the first time in his life. Amy (deaf) shares the "good news" with him by way of dry erase board and a large picture bible.

Amy: she explains to him from pictures in a large family Bible about Jesus on the cross, comes out of the tomb, and then ascends to heaven. She shows him how he came back on the day of Pentecost to the apostles with the fire (cloven tongues) on top of the head - means the Holy Ghost. Then she show how God (eyes from heaven) looks for those who has the "fire" - if he sees them he will "snatch" or rapture them to heaven - if not - he say's get out of here - you go to hell.
Xavier: quickly responds - Why snatch!
Amy
: He gives you a chance for the "gift" Holy Ghost ...wow...it's free! You want it?
Xavier: puts his hands to his mouth and gasps in a beg!
Amy: You don't have to beg - If your hungry - he will give it to you. He'll just keep giving you more and more until you are over filled. After you get the Holy Ghost if your desire for Him becomes less and less - the flame on goes down. It's best to keep the flame a long time then when God comes back - he will see the fire and will "snatch" you up. God knows which ones go to heaven or hell.
Xavier:I want God... I want baptized!
Amy: It's your chance - it's a gift - and when you get the "fire" - it's like a vibrate sensation around your mouth - and tongues comes out- you can't control it, which is fine - That's God "in" you! When you first get it - it's like a little flame on top of your head, then as you grow in Christ - the flame grows - until it's a huge "bomb fire". You need to keep the Holy Ghost every day. You don't play with God. (pointing to the chalk board) Pray like the apostles did...everyday - that's how you keep it alive.
Xavier
: I want snatched!
Amy: show him Acts 2:38... what God says... it's a period - no question mark. It's dangerous to question God. Period...just accept what God says! How do you get God's attention - English is not my language - my language is ASL. God don't care - he knows! He looks on your heart. It could be the Jewish language...I don't know...It's a gift...You can be like a drunk man...not like alcohol - but on the Spirit you will get drunk. Means God loves you so much. He might take a whole bucket and throw it on you...and you may stagger and fall over. That's why we have Deaf Conferences...and from all over we gather...and there is such joy in knowing the Gospel. You know what the "Gospel" is...it's good news! Right now, you can't eat meat but one day it will be your turn to teach someone, until it spreads all over the world. When Jesus ascended he left the "gift" with 12 men to teach and it spread all over the world. Now it's our turn to become teachers. That's the good news or the "gospel"!
Xavier: I want to be baptized.

Amy: you will...you will!
